[Article] Lessons from Barack Obama’s Life Story

Why is Obama’s life story motivational?

This candidate started with the biggest disadvantage right from the name. You change one letter in the last name and then he is the most hated name in America - Osama!

His middle name is Hussain a Muslim name an enigma for Christian voters.
If you go through his life history then this is a sensational story with twists and changes. It is motivational because he has fulfilled the dream of every American citizen that if we believe in ourselves, it is only in this country this rise to Presidency is possible.

He is black (Although his mother and grandparents are white) and racism still exists in America and some conservative whites are not yet ready for a Black President.

He had been senator only one time with just 3 years’ experience when there are senators of 30 years’ experience within the party.

He is not the son or related to the past Presidents which give normally a head start for candidates.

He beat Hillary Clinton the most charismatic political figure in Democratic Primary who had been planning for this election for last four years and was the favourite.

After winning the party nomination he took another big risk in not choosing Hillary for VP.

He overcame all accusations and controversies including with that of his mentor Wright who almost ruined his candidacy.

Lessons:

  • Always be positive about yourself
  • Be determined and focused
