At a recent press briefing and cast unveiling ceremony for the Ebola movie '93 Days', at the Terra Kulture in Lagos, it had in attendance Hollywood actor, Danny Glover, top Nigerian actress, Bimbo Akintola and Tinsel actor, Gideon Okeke.
According to NET, each of the actors casted for the movie expressed how honoured they are to be part of the Ebola outbreak story.
The American actor, who plays the role of Dr. Benjamin Ohiare, the Chief Medical Director of First Consultant Hospital, shared his feeling about the project.
According to him; “I feel proud to be part of this story. It tells the story of possibility and pride among the black race and I am glad to be a part of it. This movie reconnects me to my roots and I hope it will serve as a source of inspiration to black people because with the spirit of love, we can achieve whatever we want to.”
Also speaking at the event, top Nigerian actress, Bimbo Akintola, who plays the role of late heroine, Stella Adadevoh, disclosed that it was important for Nigerians to tell their stories to the rest of the world.
She said; “It is extremely important that we tell our stories especially when the movie is a positive one. ‘I am taking Dr Adadevoh’s part and I feel that’s a huge role because Stella was an incredible person and was a mother to many. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity. It is really important for we Nigerians to tell our story, otherwise the American people will tell it for us and still sell to us.”
Tinsel actor, Gideon Okeke, who plays the role of Dr. Morris Ibeawuchi, one of the Stella Adadevoh’s colleagues at the First Consultant Hospital also disclosed that it is a privilege to be part of the movie.
“It is a rare privileged for me to be a part of this movie. I came for the audition although I have worked with the director before and I feel really privileged working with the legendary, Danny Glover who I watched as a young boy,” he said.
Others at the press parley were Hollywood actor, Tim Reid, Steve Gukas who is the director of the movie, Bolane Austen-Peters and Dotun Olakunri who are both producers of the film.
